Incident Stroke and TIA

Here lists variables in the files 'hhf-stroke_and_tia_incident_cases.csv' and 'hhf-stroke_and_tia_incident_cases.rds'. These files are identical, and include variables used to capture incident diabetes reported in HHFs 1, and 3.

Variable Description
ANALYSISID Subject identifier
BASELINE_DATE Date baseline questionnaire was returned. This is considered the enrollment date.
HHF1_DATE Date HHF1 was returned
HHF3_DATE Date HHF3 was returned
STROKEDXTX_0 Prevalent stroke. This is captured using the 'year of first diagnosis' variable, and the question, 'Have you been treated for this in the last 12 months?'.
TIADXTX_0 Prevalent transient ischemic attack (TIA). This is captured using the 'year of first diagnosis' variable, and the question, 'Have you been treated for this in the last 12 months?'.
STROKEDX_H1 Based on HHF1, page3, question 9: 'During the last two years, have you developed [stroke] for the FIRST TIME?'\\ 0:No, 1:Yes
