Calibration Questionnaire

The calibration questionnaire, technically called the "Diet and Physical Activity Questionnaire Shorter Form", is a key component of the calibration sub-study
of the AHS-2 study. The questionnaire was administered to approximately 1000 subjects. It closely mirrors the content of the dietary and lifestyle portions of the baseline questionnaire, with a few minor modifications.

This data is generally used together with data from the 24-hour dietary recall portion
of the calibration sub-study.

In general, only researchers involved with validation will make use of this data.

Data

Two types of data are available from the calibration questionnaire: subject responses and nutrient consumption.

Subject Responses

Calibration questionnaire data are largely equivalent to a subset of the baseline questionnaire data, specifically, the dietary
and physical activity
sections. The questionnaire also has a small number of additional questions covering alcohol consumption, dietary pattern change, and key demographic data.

Subject Counts

Subjects Description
996 All known calibration questionnaire responses (includes non-subject data)
988 Enrolled subject responses (includes 8 duplicates)
980 Unique enrolled subject responses (includes subjects with excluded excluded)
965 Valid unique enrolled subject responses (includes 2 people excluded from baseline)
963 Valid unique enrolled subject responses

Nutrient Consumption

The nutrient consumption variables derived from the calibration questionnaire are the same those derived from the baseline questionnaire. The calculation method is also the same. For details, see the page on nutrient consumption
for the baseline questionnaire.
